Fund 130 unfilled positions at corrections institutions
I am proposing to fund 130 unfilled positions at our corrections institutions in an effort to increase staffing levels. Unfortunately, we have some prisons in Iowa that are almost 50 percent above capacity. In an effort to reduce the strain caused
by inadequate staffing levels, we have set aside $17.5 million dollars to significantly reduce the strain on the system and to operate the new facility at Oakdale.
