Perry Johnson on Social Security

Stabilize program by incentivizing work and immigration

We must start NOW to stabilize these programs by incentivizing work and immigration, and by recognizing the longevity of our younger population. When we started the programs, once you reached 65, you could expect to live another 13 years on average. That number is now 22 years. That's a lot more social security to pay out, and health care bills to cover for Medicare. Now, factor in the massive increase in the cost of healthcare, and you can see why the system can't continue as is.
