Debbie Dingell: No dramatic cuts to Social Security and Medicare

Thousands of Michiganders rely on Social Security and Medicare. These men and women worked hard for decades and paid their fair share to support these vital programs. There are those that have repeatedly called for dramatic cuts to Social Security and Medicare even though the individuals who rely on these programs are often the most vulnerable in our community. If elected to Congress, I will fight every day to preserve these vital programs. We need to protect and support our senior citizens. Paul Mitchell: Protect and preserve the promises we made to our seniors

Take steps to protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare so the promises we made to our seniors, and they paid for, can be honored so that they can count on a secure retirement.
Work to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in our social welfare system which have exploded under the Obama administration and have driven costs ever higher.
Pass and enforce work requirements for welfare programs that help instill the dignity of work and receiving a paycheck while breaking the cycle of dependence on the government.
