Troy Jackson on Social Security

Don't raise retirement age; scrap the cap

[On the Trust Fund running low]: "To address the problem, you either raise retirement age, raise the cap on Social Security taxes, increase Social Security taxes or reduce benefits. What specifically would you do?"

Jackson spoke first. "Well, I'm never going to raise the retirement age," he said. "I think that's really unfair for people, but I'd definitely scrap the cap, make it so that, again, wealthy people pay the same rate the rest of us do."
