Jocelyn Benson on Principles & Values

Thanked pastors for joining in calling to vote for democracy

Campaigning in churches is a bipartisan tradition. On the same Sunday when Dixon was in a church, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, campaigned in three large Detroit churches with predominantly Black congregations: Greater Grace Temple, Second Ebenezer Church and Triumph Church. Benson thanked on Twitter each pastor "for welcoming us and joining in our call to vote for democracy!"

First college student elected to Wellesley Town Meeting

The daughter of two special education teachers and raised in a working-class family, her parents instilled the values of hard work, opportunity, and serving others. Youngest woman to be dean of American law school

At 35 she was appointed dean of Wayne State University Law School, making her the youngest woman to lead an accredited law school in American history. As Dean she raised significant funds to ensure all students could pay for their education, lowered costs by freezing tuition and expanding scholarships, and built a team rooted in honesty, integrity, and service of people. As a result Wayne Law became one of the country's leading law schools.

I have a vision for making Michigan the best state

I have a vision for making Michigan the best state in the country to call home, one where our loved ones across the board are healthy, happy, safe and nearby, and I have a track record of lowering costs and saving Michiganders time and money, while also standing up to anyone, no matter how wealthy or powerful, who would stand In the way of our residents and their safety, their rights and their freedoms.
