I am 100% pro second amendment

Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Absolute right to gun ownership"?

A: This is the easiest question of all. I am 100% pro second amendment. Our forefathers knew that if we didn't have the second amendment that we would become a country of slaves to a tyrannical government. And they are 100% right. I think our government uses every opportunity they can to push gun control. It has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with control.

Gun violence increases proportionate to level of gun control

I would never vote for any further gun control. Background checks are done on every gun buyer in the country as far as I know but that is a state right, not a Federal government right. Gun violence increases proportionate to the level of gun control in place. Criminals don't pay any attention to laws. Gun control only keeps law abiding citizens from having guns. Criminals will always have guns. Countries who have disarmed their citizenry have higher gun violence after they take away the guns than they had before. It is a well known and proven fact that even our president knows is true but still pushes gun control at every opportunity. That tells me that our president does not care if our country survives or not.

Don't bow down to money instead of our rights

Both Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk refused to join 50 US Senators that signed a letter last week opposing ratification of the UN Arms Trade Treaty. In order for this treaty to be ratified, it would need 60 of the 100 votes in the Senate. Those signing onto the letter include every Republican senator but Senator Kirk.

This fall, the Obama administration signed the UN Arms Trade Treaty, which would effectively undermine 2nd Amendment rights, place international law on a pedestal above the US Constitution and encourage the creation of a national gun registry.

Sharon Hansen commented: I am challenging Durbin in 2014. I won't run as a Democrat or a Republican. Both parties are dirty. I'm running as a Libertarian. If I don't win against Durbin, I'll run in 2016 against Kirk, unless another Libertarian wants to run. We have to get these people out who bow down to money instead of the rights of the people given to us by our Creator and our Constitution.
