Troy Jackson on War & Peace

We need to get out of Iran

Q: Your views on the Iran war?

Jackson: We are in a crisis here because she would not stand up and her Republican colleagues would not stand up to Donald Trump. They let him go to war in Iran. We're spending millions and millions of dollars on another forever war, and we're seeing the effects of that by having high fuel prices. Energy independence is not starting a war and then trying to get oil from other countries and stuff like that because the prices are blowing up. We need to get out of Iran. We need to lower these costs and we do need to get energy independence so we don't get caught in the same crisis again.

Collins: I have voted 9 times to bring the war in Iran to an end. Under the War Powers Act for the 1st 60 days, the president, as commander in chief, has broad discretion to commit our troops and to enter military action. After that, it requires congressional approval, and that is why I have voted 9 times to end this war.
