Nancy Mace on Abortion

Very pro-life, no government funds to Planned Parenthood

I'm pro-life and believe we should defend life and liberty from conception to natural death. As a mom of two children, this is an especially important issue, to protect life. In my role as a State Representative I voted to block government funding of Planned Parenthood consistently, year after year; sponsored pro-life legislation with H3779, the South Carolina Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act, and voted to pass the Fetal Heartbeat Bill in 2019.

Against abortion, but yes to exceptions for rape, incest

When state Rep. Nancy Mace decided to share her personal story of being raped at 16, she thought the speech would make her fellow Republicans think twice about an abortion bill. Mace gave a pair of 10-minute floor speeches in which she successfully advocated for the inclusion of exceptions for rape and incest in a proposed six-week "fetal heartbeat" abortion ban bill.

Defend life and liberty from conception to natural death

As it is rightly stated in the Declaration of Independence, we should all have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I do not believe it was an accident that our Founders listed life as the first of our God given rights. As a pro-life conservative I believe we should defend life and liberty from conception to natural death.

Pro-life, according to PVS survey.

Mace opposes the PVS survey question on abortion rights

Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Abortion: Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?' PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
