Mike Mazzei on Energy & Oil

I killed some of the wasteful green energy programs

Q: What would you do as governor to promote and gas company growth?

MAZZEI: Well, the oil and gas industry is of paramount importance in the state of Oklahoma, and it's one of the reasons why I killed some of the wasteful green energy programs that were just not a good use of taxpayer money. And why in the world would we want to subsidize competition against our oil and natural gas industry? One of the things industry leaders have told me is that we've gotten a little heavy handed on some permitting issues and some regulatory issues. That's making it more lengthy in time to get some of those new drills drilling sites going. So I will be advocating with the corporation commission to get some of our permitting processes approved in a much more timely process, so it doesn't go on for a year and a half or two years.

MUNSON: I will be an all-of-the-above energy approach. We have an abundance of energy and oil and gas with renewables, with wind and solar.

Giveaway to wind power companies was green energy scam

Now, in a Mazzei administration, I plan to laser like focus on waste, fraud and abuse because the taxpayers have lost, you know, billions of dollars. When I was the Senate finance chairman, I did kill billions of dollars worth of corporate welfare, green energy scams like the $1.5 billion giveaway to the wind power companies. I also passed lots of tax cuts.
