Ted Budd on Gun Control

Lifetime NRA member; owns gun range and store

Currently, he is the owner of ProShots. When Ted Budd bought the business, ProShots was struggling, but it is now a thriving shooting-sports retail store, training center, and indoor range. As a lifetime NRA and Grassroots NC member and the owner of a gun range and store, Ted will not waver in defense of the freedoms protected by the 2nd Amendment.

Eliminating our gun rights is a wrongheaded idea

President Obama has made it his mission to eliminate our gun rights, and as the owner of a gun store and range, I know how wrongheaded his ideas are. Law-abiding citizens are not the problem, and I will stand strong for the rights guaranteed to each of us by the 2nd Amendment.

Opposes gun-control legislation.

Budd opposes the PVS survey question on gun control

The Project Vote Smart Voter Guide inferred how candidates would respond to the question, 'Guns: Do you generally support gun-control legislation?' Project Vote Smart notes, "in response to the increasing unwillingness of candidates to answer issue questions, Project Vote Smart has researched Congressional candidates' public records to determine candidates' likely responses on certain key issues. These issue positions, from the year 2016, are provided [for candidates who] refused to provide voters with positions on key issues covered by the 2016 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their parties and advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
