Kevin Scott on Government Reform

Lobbyists have too much control over federal government

On the current state of affairs in Washington DC: Both parties have largely abandoned the principles of common sense. Lobbyists' interests have far too much control over the federal government, as a result of this, I fully support the creation of a Senate Office of Public Integrity. Due to the current state of "lobbyists gone wild", Congress has passed a long string of incomprehensible legislation. Whether we look at our inability to secure our borders, budget deficits as far as the eye can see, overly complicated Medicaid regulations, a tax code that no one understands, and a No Child Left Behind bill that is seemingly impossible to implement, we need to change our current path. We need a Congress that will pass simple and easy to understand legislation that will make life easier for the American people.
