Sponsored $138M income tax relief bill

In 2007, Sen. Potter sponsored SB 2291, the biggest tax relief bill of the Session. It was a $137.9 million package of income tax credits for property taxes paid by homeowners, farmers, and businesses. The bill even remembered the third of North Dakotans who rent, providing a 2% rebate to them for rent paid.

That bill was rejected by the GOP majority in January, but then formed the basis of the eventual compromise that ended the 2007 Session and provided 10% property tax relief.
