Dan Mongiardo on Jobs

2004 former Democratic challenger for Senate (KY)

Bunning voted to outsource jobs to China

Under Jim Bunning's watch, more and more Kentuckians are watching their jobs go overseas through the tax loopholes he helps to keep open.
  • Bunning voted against a measure that would have required an annual report to Congress on the status of trade with China and whether or not China's trade status should be changed. [Vote #245, 9/13/00]
  • Bunning voted against a measure that would have required the President to report to Congress each year on the balance of trade with China in certain commodities and, if a deficit were reported, authorized the President to re-negotiate trade terms with China to reduce or eliminate the imbalance. [Vote #250, 9/14/00]
  • Bunning voted against a measure that would have required corporations to disclose the number of people they employ overseas, listed by country; the annual dollar volume of exports to each country to which they export goods; and the annual dollar volume of goods they produce in other countries and then import. [Vote #247, 9/14/00].
