Robert Jones on Free Trade

Support & expand free & fair trade

Q: Your opinion on "Support & expand free trade"?

A: The United States benefits from participating fully in a global economy. Trade allows us to utilize resources, expertise, products, and markets beyond our borders while creating competition that can benefit consumers and businesses alike.

However, trade must also be fair. Our policies should create an environment where American small businesses can compete alongside large multinational corporations rather than designing advantages that only the largest companies can navigate.

We should not arbitrarily punish businesses that invested and grew under the economic framework we created. Trade policy should emphasize competition, reciprocity, stability, and predictable rules while allowing Americans to benefit from the resources and opportunities of a global marketplace.
