Carnita Atwater on Gun Control

It's imperative that we educate people about gun violence

The National African American Gun Association launched a new chapter in Memphis. The African-American Cultural Museum's owner Carnita Atwater wanted to host the inaugural meeting and become a member to help lower crime in the community. "It's imperative that we educate people about gun violence, and also connect gun violence and crime to economic disparities," said Atwater. "So, I wanted to be a part of it because I want to bring in the holistic aspect of controlling and owning a gun."
