Lewiston Sun Journal, 6/11/2007: There's one item all Mainers always find consensus: our roads, for the most part, are awful. The national transportation nonprofit, TRIP, [published a] report which coincides with the June 12 referendum on a $113 million transportation bond. TRIP's findings: a full third of Maine's roads are either mediocre or poor, for example, and 20 percent of our bridges are "functionally obsolete."
