Joe L. Kennedy on Education

The "No Child Left Behind" program should be left behind

"No Child Left Behind" has left behind the importance of History, Writing and Language Skills. The "No Child Left Behind" program should be left behind. So how do we better educate our children?Education innovation is exactly what "No Child Left Behind" discourages.

Eliminate the Federal Department of Education

Education reform simply cannot work when done at the Federal level. The Federal Government creates mandates without funding, creates structure without instruction, & forces regulation that hinders innovation.

Not long ago the Republican Party called to eliminate the Federal Department of Education. To allow for innovation, creativity and diversity, reform needs to happen at the state & local level. I call for the end of Federal involvement in education and the closure of the Department of Education.
