School prayer breaches church-state separation

Q: Should we permit prayer in public schools?

A: Strongly Oppose. I support all federal legislation which promotes the separation of church and state. I believe that the founding fathers intended for the function of government to exist in a sphere separate from the influence of the church. Having witnessed the devastating impact that theocracies had on governments in Europe at the time, the architects of the constitution placed clear limits and separations on the role of religion in public office.

Supports vouchers AND full public school funding

Q: What about vouchers?

A: Favor. I support our nation's public schools and support full funding and implementation of federal programs designed to help prepare our children for the complex choices they will face. Having said that, as a product of private school education myself, I understand that public schools are not for everyone. I support access to choices in terms of education and believe that vouchers, along with fully funded public schools is the best possible option for all Americans.
