Dan Osborn on War & Peace

We have to stop digging this hole in the war in Iran

Q: Congress never authorized the conflict with Iran, now in its 6th month. Do you support the ongoing war with Iran?

Ricketts: A country that chants 'Death to America' cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Democrat Dan will take the same appeasement first strategy the Democrats do and make us less safe.

Osborn: I think everybody can agree that a terroristic regime should not have a nuclear weapon. I've been through the Strait of Hormuz myself on an aircraft carrier, a naval vessel in battle stations. I saw on the coast of Iran the missile batteries pointed down into the Strait. We have kept a carrier battle group in the Persian Gulf. But we have kept that presence there for this very reason, for deterrence. We were promised no new foreign wars, but here we are, 185 days into a new foreign war. We have to stop digging this hole in the war in Iran. We have to give Congress back the power to act as a co-equal branch of government because only Congress can declare war.

Concerned about US involved in unpopular conflict with Iran

Osborn told JI, "I will always stand against anti-Semitism, and completely agree we cannot allow a nuclear Iran."

"Right now, I do have concerns about the United States participating in an unpopular conflict with Iran that may draw us into another open-ended, costly war in the Middle East during a moment where large swaths of our citizens, including veterans, can't afford groceries or medicine," Osborn continued.
