Parents and school boards should develop local standards

Instead of alleviating the demands of No Child Left Behind's testing standards, Common Core will further dictate a predetermined, national curriculum. This will result in further removing parental rights in education and local control.

Parents and local school boards are quite capable of developing high standards that are unique to our state, standards which uphold our values and principles and preserve our ideals. We do not need an unwarranted national one-size-fits-all solution for our schools.
