Mullins McLeod on Technology

Data centers rob our water and don't create jobs

On Data Centers: Johnson introduced a resolution to have a moratorium on the construction of new data centers. "We have to know about the technology. I'm the one who coined the phrase BYOE. You're going to come to South Carolina, bring your own energy. You cannot come here and use up our resources. You cannot come up here and drive up our energy costs."

McLeod is against data centers. "These data centers, they do not create jobs. All they do is rob our water and drive up the cost of our power.

South Carolina is a state of innovation

Making South Carolina a State of Innovation--South Carolina is already the home of innovative software, drug, research and other hi-tech companies. Our research universities are home to cutting edge developments and innovations that can build new industries and create new jobs. We must send a message to the country and the world that South Carolina is a state of innovation, where private and public capital joins with a capable workforce to encourage the development of 21st Century ideas and jobs.
