Cyndi Munson on Corporations

Across the state, home insurance is too high

Q: What's your opinion on the ongoing lawsuits involving our state's largest insurer?

MUNSON: While I may not agree with everything that the Attorney General has done, I am grateful he's going after insurance companies that are harming everyday working people. I also will work with the Insurance Commissioner to enforce the laws that I will work with the legislature telling insurance companies how they operate in the state of Oklahoma, and no insurance company should increase any rates on Oklahomans unless they give us a clear reason as to why they are and capping those insurance percentage rates that are going up on everyday working people. And the reality is this for Oklahomans across the state, home insurance is too high.

MAZZEI: I have a plan to replicate the successful Florida model that home and car insurance have gone down 14%. The best program we can have to help people afford homes is to create more economic growth and get salaries growing faster than the rate of inflation.
