Bob Inglis on Environment

Republican Representative (SC-4, retook seat in 2004)

Environmentalists see equivalency between a child and a tree

Many Republicans recoil at the mention of environmental themes. Part of the discomfort comes from the worldview of some environmentalists who see a moral equivalency between a child & a tree. Conservatives generally believe that human life is higher and superior to plant and animal life. Clear thinking conservatives accept an obligation of stewardship over the plant and animal kingdoms. The common interests of the conservationist and the environmentalist can lead to significant benefits for all of us.
