Strongly opposes privatization of Social Security

Jim strongly opposes the privatization of Social Security, because he saw first-hand how important Social Security was to his grandparents. Even today, Social Security lifts 235,000 Arizonans out of poverty. Jim believes that restoring fiscal responsibility in Washington is a first step to strengthening Social Security. By bringing back fiscal responsibility and getting our budget back into balance, we will be able to stop these raids on Social Security once and for all. Private retirement savings in addition to guarantee

Jim will fight to help Americans increase their savings and be able to build wealth on top of their guaranteed Social Security benefit. We need common sense reforms to boost savings: such as changing 401(k) plans so individuals are automatically enrolled when they get a new job and enabling people to invest part of one's tax refund directly into a retirement account.
