Amy McGrath on Gun Control

Supports background checks, honest conversation about guns

I am a gun owner and pro-Second Amendment. There are some commonsense things that most gun owners and most non-gun owners actually agree on, and we haven't been able to get it done. Why? The gun lobby. Beyond common sense measures Congress should have enacted long ago, like background checks, we need an honest conversation about what we are willing to tolerate as a nation

Gun regulation is a necessity

As a nation, we desperately need to have a conversation. Beyond the common sense measures that should have been enacted long. (background checks for private sales and gun shows, barring purchases from anyone on no-fly or watch lists, meaningful efforts to keep guns out of the hands of felons, domestic abusers, and the mentally ill, and funding our CDC and NIH to study the epidemic as it does every other scourge.
