Natalie Fleming on Energy & Oil

Invest in regenerative energy

Securing America's Food and Energy Independence: I believe in self-reliance in feeding and powering ourselves responsibly. We will invest in regenerative energy, strengthen domestic production, and protect rural infrastructure. A secure nation grows its own food, powers its own homes, and stands on its own two feet.

Nuclear waste facility in Idaho, with federal funding

Q: Idaho is a finalist to host a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus. If selected, Idaho would be required to accept spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste.

Natalie Fleming (I): Idaho deserves this campus, and Idaho deserves a finished cleanup first. I would support a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus. INL already anchors thousands of jobs in eastern Idaho, and this campus means more of them: skilled scientists, engineers, and tradespeople doing work the whole country needs. But the federal government needs to fund the cleanup it already promised before asking Idaho to take on more of the nation's waste. Idaho's history with nuclear waste is a cautionary tale. I'd fight for the federal funding and real pressure on Congress to finally build the national geologic repository this waste needs. I want this campus and the jobs it brings. That means holding Washington to the promise it already made before handing Idaho a new one.
