Yolanda Flowers on Abortion

The woman along with her physician should make decision

Q: Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

A: Anytime per request of the patient.

Q: Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants)?

A: Strongly Disagree. The woman, along with the physician should come to that decision as to what is best for her, the patient.

Don't ban abortion but provide counseling for a real choice

Flowers said she hopes to provide counseling for mothers who are considering abortion and to establish more resources for people who carry babies to term but don't want to raise them. She said she does not believe that abortion should be illegal. "We don't need to ban abortion, but abortions need to be done safely," Flowers said. "I'm not trying to sway them, I'm not trying to change their minds, but just giving them information and informed choices so that they can make a real choice."
