Our country is in decline, but can be reversed
GOV. RON DESANTIS (R-FL): Our country is in decline. This decline is not inevitable. It's a choice. We need to send Joe Biden back to his basement and reverse American decline. And it starts with understanding we must reverse
Bidenomics so that middle class families have a chance to succeed again. We cannot succeed as a country if you are working hard and can't afford groceries, a car, or a new home while
Hunter Biden can make hundreds of thousands of dollars on lousy paintings. That is wrong.
We also cannot succeed when the Congress spends trillions and trillions of dollars.

2024 is make or break; we're not getting a mulligan
This is our time for choosing. We will send Joe Biden back to his basement and we will reverse the decline of this country. In Florida, we showed it could be done.
I made promises and I delivered on all of those promises. 2024 is make or break. We're not getting a mulligan. No excuses. I will get the job done and as your president, I will not let you down. God bless you all.

Florida is on the front lines in the battle for freedom
So we find ourselves in Florida on the front lines in the battle for freedom. Together we have made Florida the nation's most desired destination and we have produced historic results. But now's not the time to rest on our laurels. We have the
opportunity and indeed the responsibility to swing for the fences so that we can ensure Florida remains number one. Don't worry about the chattering class. We will stand strong. We won't back down. And I can promise you this, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Endorsed for Governor by President Trump in 2017
In late 2017, I asked the president if he would be willing to send out a tweet touting me as a good candidate for Florida governor. He seemed amenable, but at the same time, I was not holding my breath; the president has a lot on his plate,
and this was not likely to rank high on his list of things to do. About a week later, a Trump tweet appeared; "Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida.
He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!"I announced my candidacy for governor at the beginning of 2018 live on Fox & Friends.
I started traveling our state to build more support. The energy was positive, and I succeeded in expanding my support.

Wokism is a form of cultural Marxism
Wokism is a form of cultural Marxism. It is not just about raising taxes or bad economic policy, it is about tearing at the fabric of our society and trying to replace it with something that will be much, much more sinister.
A lot of major institutions in our country have become infected with this woke virus. Look at academia. Do we even need to discuss that? Their main objective is to impose an ideological world view.

We have made Florida the freest state in these United States
Together we have made Florida the freest state in these United States. While so many around the country have consigned the people's rights to the graveyard, Florida has stood as freedom's vanguard.
Florida has become the escape hatch for those chafing under authoritarian, arbitrary and seemingly never-ending mandates and restrictions.

Compels schools to have moment of silence for prayer
DeSantis visited a Jewish temple to denounce anti-Semitism and stand with Israel, as the governor cloaked himself in religion while signing a bill into law that would require public schools in his state to set aside at least one minute of silence for
children to meditate or pray. [It] makes Florida one of at least 15 states that would compel schools to hold moments of silence at public schools. The state had already been among roughly 18 other states that gave schools the option to do so.

Florida sun a beacon of light for those yearning for freedom
There are not a whole lot of Floridians who are itching to move from Florida to lockdown states, but there are thousands and thousands of people who are seeking to leave the lockdowns behind for the greener pastures in Florida. We have long been known
as the Sunshine State--but, given the unprecedented lockdowns we have witnessed in other states, I think the Florida sun now serves as a beacon of light to those who yearn for freedom.

Endorsed Member of the Tea Party movement.
DeSantis is endorsed by the Tea Party movement
The Tea Party movement is a populist conservative social movement in the United States that emerged in 2009 through a series of locally and nationally coordinated protests. The protests were partially in response to several Federal laws: the stimulus package; te healthcare bill; and the TARP bailouts. The name `Tea Party` refers to the Boston Tea Party of 1773, the source of the phrase, `No Taxation Without Representation.`

Member of the Republican Study Committee.
DeSantis is a member of the Republican Study Committee
Organizational Self-Description: The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has served as the conservative caucus of House Republicans and a leading influencer on the Right since its original founding in 1973. It exists to bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong, principled legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America`s economy, preserve traditional values and balance our budget.
The RSC provides the tools and research that members of Congress need to craft and advance policies that will benefit the American people. It also provides a forum for like-minded members to join together to support common causes and challenge the status quo. By doing so, the RSC ensures that conservatives have a powerful voice on every issue coming before the House, whether it is the economy, health care, defense, social safety net reform, or Washington`s dangerous, out-of-control spending.
We believe that the appropriate role of a limited government is to protect liberty, opportunity, and security, and that it is the responsibility of this generation to preserve them for the next. We believe that more government is the problem, not the solution.

Founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.
DeSantis is a member of the House Freedom Caucus
Excerpts from press release from House Freedom Caucus (HFC) founders (1/26/15): According to its mission statement, the HFC `gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans.` HFC leader Rep. Mark Meadows said, `The HFC will work to provide a unified conservative voice in the House Republican Conference. I look forward to working with leadership to make the concerns of conservatives known as we work together to advance a pro-growth, limited government agenda in the House.`
Excerpts from Wikipedia article on HFC: The HFC is a congressional caucus consisting of conservative Republican members of the US House of Representatives. It was formed by a group of Congressmen as a `smaller, more cohesive, more agile and more active` group of conservatives.
Many members are also part of the Republican Study Committee, another conservative House group. The caucus is sympathetic to the Tea Party movement.
Supporting argument: (Heritage Foundation, `Conservatives and the HFC,` by Jim DeMint, 11/9/2015): The HFC had the audacity to challenge the status quo in Congress, and in the eyes of Washington`s elites, that`s a serious offense. For years, Washington`s chattering class has guarded the status quo Establishment. But despite the howls of media outrage, the HFC has fought to stop business-as-usual in Washington. They are dedicated to [ending] the irresponsible federal spending we`ve seen over the last decade. This support for commonsense policies has led the Establishment to brand them as `radical` and `ultra-conservative.` In reality they are merely advocating for doing what Republican leaders pledged to do. The Freedom Caucus exists to serve as a strong, conservative conscience guiding Congress.

Endorsements by Donald Trump, implying support of Trump's agenda and electoral style.
The phrase `Make America Great Again` was popularized in Trump`s 2015 book Time to Get Tough:Making America Great Again. It is the campaign slogan embroidered on the ubiquitous red caps seen at Trump rallies (which after Trump`s presidency, became known as `MAGA rallies`).
