Better custody protection; more under-age legal protections

Lauren was the original chief sponsor of the Best Interest of the Child bill, which protects a child’s interest as he or she moves through the judicial system in custody cases. She also sponsored a new law making it a criminal sex offense to lure a child under the age of 16 into a vehicle or dwelling with the intent of committing a sexual offense. Lauren has also been a leader in fighting for better child support enforcement in the state, helping pass two bills to improve collection and payment rates.
