Byron Donalds on Environment

Support waterways without too much regulation

Southwest Florida's waterways serve as the lifeblood of our community and our local economy. I support environmental research and projects that lead to the preservation of our waters. On the other hand, we cannot support legislation that will burden taxpayers and vital industries that create millions of good-paying jobs. Radical policies should not drive environmental policy. The solution should be simple; continue to be a responsible steward of the environment and support American energy jobs.

High-level summits on toxic algae and red tide

Central to Donalds' platform was his deep, small-government conservatism, his support of gun rights and his promise to continue Rooney's environmental and water quality advocacy. Throughout his tenure, Rooney regularly engaged with the region's water quality issues, touring the Everglades with President Donald Trump and convening several high-level summits with government agency leaders and the public on toxic algae and red tide.
