Civil union and gay marriage laws by states, not feds
Every individual is entitled to equal treatment under the law. Laws governing marriage and/or civil unions, like most other laws, should be determined at the state or local level, not by the federal government.

Discontinue affirmative action-no government discrimination
Nolan supports the following principles regarding affirmative action.
The federal government should discontinue affirmative action programs.
Nolan says, "Every individual is entitled to complete equality under the law. Government should not discriminate for or against anyone. "
