Civil union and gay marriage laws by states, not feds
Every individual is entitled to equal treatment under the law. Laws governing marriage and/or civil unions, like most other laws, should be determined at the state or local level, not by the federal government.

Discontinue affirmative action-no government discrimination
Nolan supports the following principles regarding affirmative action.
The federal government should discontinue affirmative action programs.
