Jeff Landry on Health Care

Fought mandatory COVID vaccines for schoolchildren

This year, parents and guardians stood together with Jeff Landry in opposition to the COVID-19 shot being required for their children to attend school. As a result of their coming together, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) decided to rescind the mandate for Louisiana students. As of yesterday, it has officially been repealed. "Child medical decisions should be made by their guardians, not the government."

Nationalized care reduces quality and increases costs

I oppose nationalized health care efforts that will reduce the quality of care, lead to rationing, put a bureaucrat between you and your doctor and spend our nation further and further into debt.

I do support efforts to allow insurance to be purchased across state lines, increasing competition. I believe that government mandates to provide service that patients do not want or do not need increase costs.

Better care, lower costs and less government involvement--not more--is my platform.

Opposes government-run healthcare.

Landry opposes the CC survey question on government-run healthcare

The Christian Coalition voter guide [is] one of the most powerful tools Christians have ever had to impact our society during elections. This simple tool has helped educate tens of millions of citizens across this nation as to where candidates for public office stand on key faith and family issues.

The CC survey summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Federal government run health care system"

Repeal any federal health care takeover.

Landry signed Club for Growth's "Repeal-It!" Pledge

The Club for Growth`s `Repeal-It!` Pledge for candidates states, `I hereby pledge to the people of my district/state upon my election to the U.S. House of Representatives/U.S. Senate, to sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.`
