Supports UBI as "Mayors for a Guaranteed Income"

Nearly two years after launching the program, Tubbs announced another milestone in the country's quest for Universal Basic Income: a coalition of 11 city mayors, collectively known as Mayors for a Guaranteed Income. The coalition include Tubbs, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Adrian Perkins, mayor of Shreveport, La., [and several others].

Focus on affordable housing via faith-based resources

• Accelerate legislation to implement recommendations from the Atlanta City Design to promote density and reduce parking requirements, which significantly raise the cost of new apartment buildings.
• Establish a rental housing initiative to support the 50% of Atlantans who rent their homes.
• Pursue the expansion of inclusionary zoning throughout the City's boundaries, so that every new development contributes to maintaining affordability for Atlantans.

Resource centers & smaller shelters to relieve homelessness

• Ask the Homelessness Commission to develop a proposal for a day-time resource center which would serve meals, offer people access to a complete range of services, as well as computers and phones.
• Accelerate development of new, smaller shelter facilities, including shelters for women and families.
• Work with organizations to identify interventions and solutions for homeless LGBTQ youth.
