Armed with just a fraction of Manchin's campaign cash, Weeks sought to tar the governor with the scandal stemming from West Virginia University's decision to award one of his daughter's a master's degree she had not earned. A Catholic like Manchin, Weeks had also focused on the abortion issue but saw West Virginians for Life endorse Manchin.
