Barack Obama: Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions

Principles that Obama supports on gun issues:
• Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.
• Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
• Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks with firearms.

Jesse Sullivan: 2nd amendment is an important piece of our national identity

Growing up hunting, and having served in Afghanistan, Sully understands the importance of the right to bear arms. He carries the same sidearm at home that he did when overseas. We must protect the rights and reduce the barriers of law-abiding citizens to access firearms. And we must go after criminals who illegally acquire and possess firearms, especially in Chicago, where illegal guns are driving the current crime spike.
