Zach Lahn in 2026 IA Governor's race

On Tax Reform: Lessen the tax burden on Iowans

Focus on Affordability: Lessening the tax burden on Iowans, food freedom policies and banning Wall Street Hedge-funds from buying single family homes will help make life affordable for Iowa families.

On Abortion: It is our duty to protect life before birth

Protect Life: Every life is a gift from God and it is our duty to protect life before birth, as well as after birth by addressing chronic health issues facing our kids.

On Civil Rights: Young white males are being told they don't matter

So when you look at this, people are called conspiracy theorists for bringing up this idea of replacement migration. They literally wrote a white paper on it, and they described what it was going to do. And then you look at these people--especially young white males--who feel like they're being taken out of society, being told they don't matter. In fact, they're told they have this original sin of being who they are. It's unbelievable.

On Crime: More money for prisons, but also for mental health

I would just say that law and order is foundational to having a society that is functioning. And safe streets, safe communities are one of those things that they should just be able to count on. So, yes, as governor, I would look to increase funding to the prison systems. But there's a lot of people that are being incarcerated have significant mental issues, like significant issues that are mental-health-related. And they need something different than just the prison system.

On Education: Make public schools good to compete with private schools

On Education: Supports state voucher program for private schools

Lahn is in favor of the ESA program, which supplies Iowa families with extra money to take their kids to private school if they would like. He thinks that parents need to have more say over where their kids go to school and where their tax dollars are spent.

On Energy & Oil: Democrats & liberals subsumed by this religion of carbon

The Democrats and liberals have been subsumed by this religion of carbon. It's wrong. It is, it's based on a lie, it's based on control. In 2006 California passed the Low Carbon-Fuel Standard. Well, they're one of our largest export states. If we don't make ethanol and low carbon fuel, then we have restrictions on selling there. So, what we're looking at doing, and I'm opposed to, is using eminent domain to condemn century farms in Iowa to appease a globalist agenda out of socialist California.

On Environment: The EPA has been a captured agency for a very long time

So number one, there should never be immunity from lawsuit for a company. No company should have immunity from liability when their product harms somebody. And number two, we have to do independent research about the safety of products so our farmers know they have real science backing it because the EPA has been a captured agency for a very long time.

On Foreign Policy: Confiscate any land illegally owned by China

    Foreign and Out-of-State Ownership Restrictions
  1. Lower property taxes for Iowans by raising property tax rates on Wall Street institutional investors.
  2. Confiscate any land illegally owned by China and sell that land back to young families and veterans.

On Free Trade: Tariffs are not the issue with farms operating at a loss

Most farms are operating at a loss right now. And when you talk to farmers about this, I cannot emphasize this enough--you do not hear them talk about tariffs. Matter of fact, the price of soybeans this year with the tariffs was higher than it was last year before the tariffs. The change came in the cost of growing--the cost of the input products that they're using went up. So I tell people all the time, the tariffs are not the issue.

On Government Reform: Election fraud occurs; go towards paper ballots

I think the point here is election fraud does occur. Mail and ballots are heavily used for that. We saw that in the 2020 election, purposefully used for that. And that if we don't have integrity in our voting system, we lose our democracy, period. I am 100% in favor of going towards paper ballots and these voter-verified systems to be able to ensure their elections are free and fair and that they're honest.

On Health Care: Focus on healthy living and healthy food

Lahn is the first candidate to be sponsored by MAHA (Make America Healthy Again). Lahn's goals for the healthcare system of Iowa are to focus more on preventative measures for delaying sick care or preventing sick care completely. He believes this can be done by prioritizing practices within the state that focus on healthy living and healthy food. He wants to make sure that parents are thinking responsibly when vaccinating their kids and making sure that everything is being tested properly.

On Immigration: We will ban benefits for illegal immigrants

No Benefits for Illegal Immigrants: We will ban benefits for illegal immigrants, and stop issues H1B visas for jobs that Iowans can do in state government and in our universities.

On Principles & Values: Answers only to God, his family, & people of Iowa

Who is Zach Lahn? Zach Lahn is not a politician but another Iowan like you. He is a father, farmer, and a businessman. He is 6th generation Iowan, his own biggest donor, and does not answer to large corporations or special interest--only to God, his family, and the people of Iowa.

On Principles & Values: Iowa First is more than a slogan--it's a commitment

IOWA FIRST: CORE PHILOSOPHY: Iowa First is more than a slogan--it's a commitment to prioritize Iowa families, Iowa-owned businesses, and Iowa's long-term health over corporate interests, out-of-state investors, and political expediency.

On Principles & Values: We're a Christian nation with a Christian form of government

We are a Christian nation with a Christian form of government. Our Constitution could not have been created by any other religion. You're not endowed by a creator, you don't have inalienable rights--but in Christianity, you do. The divinity of the individual is real. We're made in the image of God.
