Jim Banks in 2024 IN Senate race
On Education:
Schools should educate--not indoctrinate--America's youth
Jim believes our schools should educate--not indoctrinate--America's youth. Jim is staunchly opposed to Critical Race Theory and other liberal propaganda, like the 1619 Project, being pushed onto elementary school children at the cost of basic subjects
like reading and math. Jim firmly believes that all students should have access to a great education that fits their unique, individual needs, and that parents--not government bureaucrats--know what is best for their children.

On Government Reform:
Fought unconstitutional efforts to federalize our elections
Ensuring election integrity has been a top priority for Jim with the clear goal of making it easy to vote and harder to cheat. Jim has fought back against Democrats' unconstitutional efforts to federalize our elections, and introduced the
Save Democracy Act, which would ensure free and fair elections in 2024 and beyond through common-sense, conservative reforms like voter ID, fair poll watching, and swift counting of ballots.

On Homeland Security:
Committed to investing in our men and women in uniform
Our foreign policy should come from a place of strength, and there must be no question that America will always defend its standing. Jim recognizes that Communist China poses an existential threat to our national security and is committed to investing
in our men and women in uniform so that we can maintain our military dominance and protect the American people. Jim will always fight for a national security policy that puts America first.

On Principles & Values:
Uncover Jesus painting at Merchant Marine Academy
Banks is urging Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg to take action regarding the reported covering of a piece of artwork depicting Jesus that is displayed at the Merchant Marine Academy. "The piece, titled 'Christ on the Water,' was designated a
heritage asset by the Maritime Administration and has significant historical value," Banks said in the letter. "The painting depicts an image of Jesus and merchant seamen adrift in a lifeboat during World War II."

On Social Security:
Use debt ceiling debate to cut spending, not Social Security
Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), chairman of the influential Republican Study Committee, said at a CBS News event that the debt ceiling could be used to call
for spending caps, balanced budgets, or to cut discretionary spending--actions that would not include Social Security and Medicare.

On Abortion:
No plan to make IVF free
Trump told NBC News last month when asked what he'd do about IVF if elected. "We're going to be mandating that the insurance company pay," Trump told NBC News last month when asked what he'd do about IVF if elected. "We're going to be mandating that
the insurance company pay."Some worried about the high cost of such a policy. Others confessed they don't understand what he's proposing to do. Yet others wondered aloud if Trump was serious. And numerous Trump allies said his announcement came as a
surprise to them
Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., a former chair of the conservative Republican Study Committee and a Senate candidate, said he hasn't seen a Trump policy plan on IVF to evaluate.
There is scant evidence of a Republican appetite for that plan in Congress. "We'll have to see what that looks like," he said. "I don't know what that would look like -- to make it free."
