Latham Saddler in 2022 GA Senate race
On Abortion:
Will fight to protect the lives of all our unborn children
Every parent knows the God-given instinct deep within us to protect our children. As a father, Latham knows this too, and hearing his sons' hearts beating for the first times solidified his belief in protecting unborn life.
His twin brother, Ashby, who has Down syndrome, is a shining example of the extraordinary impact that a single life can have. Latham is pro-life and will fight to protect the lives of all our unborn children.

On Budget & Economy:
Stimulus has too much wasteful spending
Q: On the federal stimulus measure?A: There's too much capacity of wasteful spending. There's a number of concerns, including that people are hurting economically but the amount they've received from a stimulus check is just a fraction of the total
package. China is doing everything they can to instill a lack of confidence across the globe and destabilize the dollar, and we're racking up trillions of dollars in debt. I worry about that from a national security standpoint.

On Foreign Policy:
I see America being challenged by a rising communist China
[On China]: "Today I see America being challenged abroad like never before by a rising communist China," said Saddler, a 38-year-old Atlanta resident, in his announcement video. "Meanwhile, Americans are fighting with each other here at home and our
country is being undermined from within by a broken political system lacking authentic leadership." Saddler said he should be the option for voters who view China as an existential threat and see the solution as unity under conservative leadership.

On Foreign Policy:
He is determined that Communist China will not prevail
This must be an American 21st century. Communist China seeks to overtake America in every way--economically, militarily and technologically. China is open about this goal while using subversive tactics to achieve it. Latham has never and will never
shy away from a fight for freedom, and he is determined that Communist China will not prevail. Latham will hold China accountable and ensure America's continued leadership in the free world.

On Foreign Policy:
A strong, united America makes the world more secure
As Americans, united we'll stand, and divided we'll fall. We are Americans first--fellow countrymen and women--not each others' enemies. Our REAL ADVERSARIES, like Communist China, win when we are divided. Latham advanced the America First Agenda
while working in the Trump administration. As a United States Senator, he will continue to fight for our stability at home and America's leadership on the world stage because a strong, united America makes the world a more secure place for everyone.

On Government Reform:
Georgia laws make it easier to vote, harder to cheat
Georgia has led the way on how a state can reform its elections. I see an expanded pathway for more Georgians to vote under this law and I think the misinformation campaign is hurting our state.
Rather than a federal takeover of elections, Georgia has demonstrated how to make elections easier to vote and harder to cheat.
When you look back at the [2020 presidential] election, there is so much fog around the issue. It's hard to say if Biden really received about 81 million votes. I don't think anyone really knows, but you had people from both sides who lacked
confidence. During my work in national security, one of our metrics for success for spreading democracy overseas is whether there's confidence in the election system. That's why the leaders here have adopted the changes.

On Government Reform:
Fewer regulations allow our businesses to grow and thrive
A strong economy means stability in our homes and security as a nation. Latham's conservative pledge is "Dignity, Not Dependency" because he believes in the dignity of hard work, not dependency on government.
He will fight to create an environment where lower taxes and fewer regulations will allow our businesses to grow and thrive.

On Gun Control:
Threats to 2d amendment are a threat to our way of life
The right to bear arms is explicit in our Constitution. Threats to that right are a threat to our way of life. We have a right to protect our families, to pass down the tradition of outdoorsmanship to our children, and to
defend ourselves when necessary. Latham will fight for our right to bear arms in Georgia and across America.

On Homeland Security:
Georgia senators are usually experts on national security
[On priorities in the Senate]: "Georgia has a proud tradition, as you know, of having very strong senators who are experts on national security. Sam Nunn was a fantastic one. We had Saxby Chambliss and of course, we had Sen. [David] Perdue.
This is the first time ever since the middle of the 20th Century that we don't have a U.S. Senator on the Armed Services Committee," said Saddler. "As you know, Georgia's a huge pro-military state with 11 military [installations]."

On Homeland Security:
Work to ensure our common defense as a top priority
America is safest when it is at its strongest. Latham will work to ensure our common defense is a top priority for our government. Because of his experiences in the military and on the National Security Council, he knows America's strength means more
peace, stability and security at home and across the globe. Georgia is home to several military installations. Latham will ensure that those bases remain keys to our national security mission and essential community partners across our state.

On Immigration:
For a physical and technological wall on southern border
Border security is national security. Because of his experience as a special operations leader, Latham knows that a secure perimeter and good intelligence are critical for mission success. He will apply these basic
principles to our southern border by advocating for a physical and technological wall and advancing our border patrol's intelligence capabilities.

On Principles & Values:
I will put Georgia first and keep America first
[On reasons for candidacy]: "I will put Georgia first and keep America first," he said. "I will not back down in the face of our enemies who seek to destroy us, or from those among us who seek to divide us.
I'll fight for you with honor, hard work, respect and resilience because that's the American way." Saddler said he's running in part because he's concerned about
China's growing influence and fearful that "our country is being undermined from within by a broken political system lacking authentic leadership."
"The most important thing we do as a country is restore national confidence and pride. My goal is to ignite the patriot in everyone I come across."

On Principles & Values:
It is time for my generation of leaders to step up
Latham Saddler believes in the resilience of America and Americans. Today, he sees our nation being challenged abroad like never before; he sees us fighting with our neighbors here at home; he sees our country lacking authentic leadership.
And he knows it is time for his generation of leaders to step up and chart a new course for the future. As Georgia's United States Senator, Latham will be guided by his faith, his conservative, Georgia values, and his deep love of country.

On Principles & Values:
MLB reacting to voter suppression is "cancel culture"
In Georgia, the social and economic toll of Major League Baseball removing the All-Star Game hurt regular Georgians. It was a decision based on misinformation and rooted in cancel culture that punished our state unfairly.
Latham knows that good information and communication are necessary for a strong future, and he will fight to ensure that misguided decisions like Major League Baseball do not happen again in Georgia or our country.

On Principles & Values:
Georgia is the most patriotic state in America
Georgia is the most patriotic state in America, and the decisions made here have national influence and impact. Latham will fight tirelessly to preserve the freedoms of all Georgians,
protect Georgia's families, and build economic security for Georgians and their businesses including agriculture, our greatest economic engine.

On Tax Reform:
Infrastructure proposal a tax hike, corporations will leave
Q: On the proposed infrastructure measure:A: If it was solely an infrastructure package, then I think many Americans would want to give it a serious look. But from what I've read, only a fourth of it is going into traditional infrastructure.
It's a hike in taxes at a time when some of these corporations can just jump ship and move overseas.

On War & Peace:
Became fluent in Farsi; joined the Navy SEALs
Knowing that the U.S. military needed additional experts in Middle Eastern studies, he began teaching himself Farsi. Saddler eventually went back to school, earned two master's degrees, and became fluent in the language. Then, in 2011, Saddler joined
the Navy through Officer Candidate School and, at 28, entered SEAL Training as the oldest member of his class and upon graduation reported to the SEAL Teams. "It was a privilege simply to serve alongside SEALs, let alone lead them," Saddler says.
