Tougher anti-meth laws

DRUGS

Led efforts to have Missouri designated as part of the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, securing $40.3 million in funding for anti-methamphetamine efforts since 1996.
Won enactment of law to increase meth penalties, making them equal to the penalties for crack cocaine.
Won enactment of anti-meth legislation called a “landmark” by the DEA, securing $55 million for law enforcement, prevention and education.

Voted YES on increasing penalties for drug offenses.

Vote to increase penalties on certain drug-related crimes. The amendment would specifically target the manufacturing or trafficking of amphetamines and methamphetamines and possession of powder cocaine. It would also set stronger penalties for dealing dr Bill S.625 ; vote number 1999-360 on Nov 10, 1999
