Supports pollution prevention and CO2 reduction

Gov. Mel Carnahan today honored winners of the Third Annual Governor’s Pollution Prevention Award. “These seven companies have exhibited an outstanding commitment to improving Missouri’s environmental and public health,” Carnahan said. [One award went for an] innovative procedure which utilizes a natural process to reduce the use of non-renewable fossil fuels and air emissions while effectively pretreating the wastewater, reducing carbon dioxide released into the air by 75 percent.
