Lee Fisher on Health Care

Supports new healthcare reform law

On health care, Fisher supports the new health care reform law, while Portman wants to repeal it, calling it a big government approach and job killer that fails to contain costs.

Health care reform is both a moral and economic imperative

Just over 20 years ago, my mother was suddenly diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a disease that would take her life at age 58. Though my family had the best care available to us at the time, these moments of crisis stiffened my resolve never to give up the struggle to ensure every American has access to quality and affordable health care.

Health care reform is both a moral and economic imperative. For the health of our nation and the competitiveness of our businesses, we must ensure every American has access to quality, affordable health care.

Supports government-run healthcare.

Fisher supports the CC survey question on government-run healthcare

The Christian Coalition voter guide [is] one of the most powerful tools Christians have ever had to impact our society during elections. This simple tool has helped educate tens of millions of citizens across this nation as to where candidates for public office stand on key faith and family issues.

The CC survey summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Federal government run health care system"
