More troop armor and less missile defense

Q: How would you allocate military spending?

A: Spending should be reappropriated from the high-end such as aircraft carriers, B2 bombers, and missile defense to the low-end troop armor and logistical support they need. Defense spending still resides in the mindset of nation-states battles and a new destroyer warship does little to protect our troops from a $100 roadside bomb.

Reduce nuclear warheads to a number needed for protection

Throughout the US' nuclear history, there have been several incidents of accidents and losses involving nuclear material. With the former Soviet Union struggling to keep a lid on its nuclear material, this problem is only exaggerated. The US can and must lead the world in resolving this dire situation. We must first ascertain what our needs truly are. Are thousands of warheads really necessary to protect this country, and, at what count do they stop being protection and become a liability?
