Supports Truth-in-Sentencing and guidelines for judges
The passage of the truth-in-sentencing law in Wisconsin was a great victory for Jim Doyle. Crime victims and the public now have certainty about the amount of time a convicted criminal will serve. Jim Doyle first proposed a comprehensive plan for
truth-in-sentencing in 1996. At that time, he also proposed a complete revision of the criminal sentencing code that establishes guidelines for judges, which would provide greater certainty and equity in sentencing decisions throughout the state.
