Matt Brown on Welfare & Poverty |
That's why in 1993, Matt helped found City Year Rhode Island, a successful public service organization that has changed the lives of thousands of young adults and made our communities safer and stronger. With young, energetic volunteers, City Year cleaned up neighborhoods overrun with gang violence, reclaimed parks from drug dealers, and ran after-school tutoring and mentoring programs for children. Matt and City Year tackled and solved the toughest problems facing our neighborhoods. Today, the City Year program Matt led continues to teach young people the values of hard work, responsibility and service to others.
