Train for Green jobs in public schools

Our whole school system needs a big updating. Schools must prepare students for jobs for tomorrow, Green jobs, that enhance the planet and promote health and vitality. We need to break away from teaching dependence on fossil fuels. It is unacceptable for the U.S. to go to war to take other countries' fossil fuels and our students are not cannon fodder! Let's teach students how to conserve and think, and redesign, rebuild, repair, recycle well. How to think about building renewable, sustainable energy systems. We need more sustainable communities. This all takes thinking and designing about our food, water, and air quality, our homes and buildings and transportation. When we are self-reliant as a nation, we are less likely to start wars. Establish and fund Green Collar Jobs Corps
Move quickly to sustainable, alternative energy sources, i.e., wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, etc. while shutting down all nuclear and coal-fired power plants.
Mandate at least 40 mpg for autos.
Expand public mass transit trains and buses.
Eliminate factory farms.
Ban all genetically-modified organisms.
Feed school children organic, locally-grown food.
