Pay off the national debt

One of the most important lessons a parent teaches a child is to be responsible - responsible for his or her conduct and responsible for his or her money. America needs to be much more responsible with the people’s money. Interest payments on the national debt now consume more than $200 billion a year, an intolerable claim on national income. Beyond the burden of annual interest, America should leave to the next generation a future free of debt. If we pay down the national debt just as families
