I will reject any budget that does not include genuine tax relief to Texas employers and job creators. I will also insist on property tax reduction. It's time for property owners--not government--to truly own their property.
My plan calls for a $2 billion reduction in the business franchise tax and a $2.2 billion reduction in the property tax burden. My budget includes an appropriation that makes school districts whole for any tax revenue they might lose.

The Occupy Movement woke me up and gave me hope
I remember a time when I wanted nothing to do with politics and then the Occupy Movement was born. I can not deny that it woke me up and gave me hope. Here there were so many individuals with shared beliefs trying to make a dent in the system.
It was the beginning and now I'm occupying the ballot. Be the change.Three years ago a rebellion began in NYC--it spread across the country and was in 1400 cities in America. We occupied public parks and places to make a bold political statement--
that the country had been hijacked by special interests, lobbyists, and corporate welfare/windfall profits which fueled dark money and bought off elections. The economy never recovered (meaning average people lost big while big corporations did very
well).
A new world is waiting for us but first we need to recognize it and then make it happen! May all the corruption, deaths, foul play, and downright dirty deeds fade away and may all good people unite for a better tomorrow!!
