John Cranley: Shift funding from growing prisons to addressing poverty

?Motivated by a deep sense of social justice, John co-founded the Ohio Innocence Project in 2002, which by using DNA technology has exonerated and freed 33 wrongfully convicted people. Throughout his career, Cranley has led historic police reform-- Cincinnati is safer while arresting fewer people annually.

John plans to shift funding from growing prisons to addressing poverty and mental illness. John will establish a special office to investigate wrongful convictions and make sure innocent people are not in prison, reform prosecution practices that lead to wrongful convictions, help police departments obtain body cameras and increase police accountability, and invest in jobs, housing, and services for returning citizens. He will also decriminalize marijuana use.

Matt Dolan: Unapologetically BACK THE BLUE; won't defund the police

Rising crime in Ohio and across America stems from the attacks socialist Democrats have relentlessly waged against our police officers. It's shameful and has no place in our communities. As a prosecutor and member of Ohio's General Assembly, I have always supported our police and first responders. In the U.S. Senate, I will unapologetically BACK THE BLUE and stop any attempt to defund the police.
