Make society's best interest to help people be healthy

Q: Your opinion on our VoteMatch statement, "More federal funding for health coverage"?

A: I guess "no opinion" is the best choice from the options given. I'd prefer to answer "none of the above" or "other approach". I don't prefer Federal spending under the current debt-based, tax laden economic system. I'd prefer local options, with more LOCAL spending. Also, health care should be non-profit, and we should do our best to remove greed and conflicts of interest from the equation. Currently, if there are no sick people, the doctors, hospitals, and drug company execs don't get paid, so it's not in their best interests to help people be healthy.

Encourage non-profit hospitals

Non-profit hospitals should be encouraged. The end game solution for Health Care is that we need to develop our local communities and operate social services out of those communities. The Federal Government and even States Governments will always be ill equipped to deal meaningfully with personal human issues.

More funding for health coverage, but change model

Q: What is your opinion on the statement, "More federal funding for health coverage"?

A: Support. I believe that before any funding is sent to the health care industry, the conflict of interest needs to be removed from the equation. As long as doctors and medical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies and so on are dependent upon people being sick in order to earn a living, the health of the patient will be at odds with the health professional's income. New reverse-compensation models, local compensation models, and other innovative approaches to ensuring the above professionals are taken care of while encouraging them to permanently heal the patients and keep them healthy need to be implemented.
