Chuck Baldwin on Foreign Policy
Constitution Party nominee for President; Reform Party nominee in several states
“I believe with all my heart that our sovereignty and our national independence are hanging by a very precarious thread,” said Baldwin, a talk-show host and founding minister of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla.
The United States is properly a free and sovereign republic which should strive to live in peace with all nations, without interfering in their internal affairs, and without permitting their interference in ours.
No matter which of the two major parties wins the White House, our troops would continue to be used for UN missions all over the world. They would continue to stick our nose wherever it does not belong. They would continue our utopian plans of nation-building, empire-building and international meddling. When I become President empire building and playing policeman of the world will come to an immediate halt and the United States of America will once again begin conducting itself as the Republic it was meant to be.“
I strongly oppose American participation in any form of world government organization, including any world court. As President I will terminate United States membership in the United Nations, and its subsidiary organizations, and terminate US participation in all so-called UN peace keeping operations and I would bar the United Nations, and its subsidiaries, from further operation, including raising of funds, on United States territory.
American troops must serve only under American commanders, and as long as I am President American forces will never serve under the flag of the United Nations or any foreign country.
Remember that President Bush told the U.N. in 2003 that the reason we invaded Iraq was for the purpose of securing the “peace and credibility of the United Nations.” (I lie not; that is what he said.)
